Armor People Link is looking for candidates for our Mississauga based client that deals into manufacturer of salon, styling, dental chairs, medical equipment including dental units, dental chair, examination table, operating table and gynecological chair.
They are currently hiring for Upholster position. This is a temp. to perm. role and our client will hire the associate after 3 to 4 months of joining after successfully meeting the performance standards. Therefore, they are looking for candidates who are available to work full time, reliable, trainable, initiators, time management with good work ethics.
Duties involves:
Using power tools and hand tools, cut foams for beauty/dental equipment.
With a pressurized glue gun, attach the above-mentioned foams to wood/plastic substrates in our dedicated spray booth.
Using power tools, hand tools, apply and install batting, foam, poly-filler and fabric to wood/plastic substrates in the assembly of beauty and dental equipment.
Attach finishes, including buttons, trim, tassels and other decorative accessories, to complete orders according to specifications
Read work orders and maintain production status for communication with production manager.
Inspect wood/plastic substrates for defects and send to repairs as needed prior to upholstery application and other finish work
Operate portable hand-sewing equipment, nail guns and tack hammers and other industrial equipment
Determine fabric inventory (form, sub-assembly, etc.) and provide status updates about inventory availability to manager.
Examine the purchased items carefully and fill out receiving report.
Responsible of maintaining inventory.
Annual, Semi-annual and other inventory count and reconciliation procedures.
Establish and update standard operating procedure. Participate in effort to increase job quality and efficiency.
Maintain safe working conditions. Establish, improve and follow safe working procedure. Keep working area and related areas clean.
Requirements:
What we're looking for
A dynamic, enthusiastic and collaborative professional who is able to perform the upholstry and general manual work duties. Person who is having basic work ethic and good attitude as an employee. This includes, but not limited to, Hard working, self-driving, eager to learn; eager to do a good job and having good communication skills. Good at time management, not to mention punctuality.
Being good at making something by hand. Creative to make improvement.
1-2 years Upholstry or Manufacturing industry experience, role is trainable to right attitude candidate with willingness to learn attitude
Some experience operating the manual or power tools
Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and join in an active, high energy and high performing team

Qualified candidates will be presented further to our client
Final interview and decision will be taken by our client for successful on-boarding of suitable candidates
Police clearance check
