Job Description

Armor People Link is hiring for Machine Operators in a Plastic Bag Manufacturing company. This is a temporary to Permanent work profile with an opportunity to grow in manufacturing and mechanical fields. It has a fast paced manufacturing environment, Quick learnings, decision making, problem solving, experience with tools, excellent mechanical aptitude and various employee benefits. It has Bi- weekly rotational shifts which gives flexibility to enjoy time with family and friends.

This positions works on a bi-weekly rotating shift:

Pay Rate: Shifts will rotate at every 2 weeks
Morning Shift - (7 am to 3:15 pm); Pay rate: $21.50/hour + 4% vacation pay
Afternoon- (3pm-11:15pm); Pay rate: $21.50/hour + $0.75 per hr+ 4% vacation pay
Night - $(11pm-7:15am); Pay rate: $21.50/hour + $1.25 per hr + 4%vacation pay

Overtime will be paid after 40 hours and company benefits are available on hiring. Company benefits will be available at Hiring with our client

Duties/Responsibilities: Setup Operator
 Reads production sheets, sample boards and schedule lists
 Loads rolls onto bag machines using a hoist
 Sets up machine for production and makes minor adjustments
 Installs machine attachments according to job specifications
 Communicates with Packers/Operators and Supervisor regarding status of jobs
 Performs minor maintenance of equipment
 Assists packers, unloads and loads skids as required
 Maintains cleanliness of equipment and area
Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
 Ability to pass the police clearance check
 Ability to work rotating shifts, shifts will change every two weeks from days to afternoon to nights
Morning Shift: 7 am-3:15pm
Afternoon Shift: 3pm- 11:15pm
Night Shift: 11:15pm-7:15am
 Ability to multi-task Ability to read, write, and understand english information/instructions
 Clear verbal communication
 Can lift up to 50 lbs unaided
 Ability to work with minimal supervision
 Good organizational and prioritization skills
 Strong mechanical aptitude
 Ability to work power and hand tools


Work Environment/Conditions:
 Noisy environment
 Exposure to solvents and glues
 Adheres to Health and Safety rules including personal protective equipment
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
 Completion of high school diploma
 Basic computer skills, experience with MS Word and excel is an asset
 Prior work experience in a manufacturing industry
 Prior work experience of working different shifts preferably experience with nights
 Exposure to machine setups and mechanical problem solving

Selection Criteria:
 Candidate will be required to complete a client specific test for qualification review
 An interview will be conducted by Armor consultant
 Qualified candidates will be presented further to our client
 Final interview and decision will be taken by our client for successful on-boarding of suitable candidates
 Police clearance check and reference check will be conducted
