Job Overview:
We are currently hiring Slitter Helpers to join the production team of one of our reputable manufacturing clients. This hands-on role involves assisting with slitting machine operations, roll handling, quality monitoring, and product preparation.
This is a rotating shift and rotation is on a bi-weekly basis:
Morning Shift: 7 am-3:15pm - $22.76/hr
Afternoon Shift: 3pm- 11:15pm - $22.76 +$0.75 as afternoon shift premium
Night Shift: 11:00pm-7:15am - $22.76 +$1.25 as night shift premium
Key Responsibilities:
Read production dockets to verify roll size and rewind specifications
Check product samples for visual confirmation and accuracy
Use a measuring tape to measure roll diameter and enter data into the system
Enter rewind settings and job specs into the computer system
Load large rolls onto the slitter machine using a roll lifter
Monitor product roll to ensure it stays in register throughout the slitting process
Stop machine as needed to remove defective product and splice rolls together
Unload rewound rolls using lifting equipment and safely stack them onto skids
Requirements:
What we are looking at:
Good mechanical aptitude
Clear verbal and written communication
Good problem solving skills
Prior manufacturing experience
Must be eligible to work legally full- time in Canada without the requirement of PR support by the employer
Prior experience of working different shifts is an asset (preferably night shifts)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs ( with a partner) for bag drop tests and stand for long periods
Qualifications:
SELECTION CRITERIA:
An interview will be conducted by Armor consultant
Qualified candidates will be presented further to our client for an interview
Final decision will be taken by our client for successful on-boarding of suitable candidates
Police clearance check is a MUST
Double vaccination status is required
